AL SUWAIKET-BERRY Floor, the flooring division of Al Suwaiket Support Services, has started installation of exclusive flooring solutions at the Dhahran Tower, which will boast solid wood flooring derived from Canadian maple.

“We are begun installation of solid wood flooring from Canada’s PG Model, which is being used in the prime areas of the apartments, as well as the squash court, the gymnasium and aerobic area,” says Ramesh A, the manager of the flooring division. “It is one of our largest orders and involves a number of challenges in terms of its environmental specifications, the time frame for installation, and the quality and the workmanship stipulated for the project.”

For the project, 20-mm-thick, fire-retardant solid wood flooring will be installed within the next two months, he adds.
Solid wood flooring is generally  used worldwide for multi-purpose halls, squash courts, gymnasiums as well as in restaurants, hotels and residences, he says. It comes in a thickness of 20 mm and with a 25-year warranty from the manufacturing company. Apart from PG Model, the company also offers solid wood flooring from Canada’s Canquest Pacific.

Laminates
Laminates offered by the company come from Berry Floor, Belgium, which has introduced the lock or click system. Available in thickness of 7, 8 and 11 mm, the laminates come with a 25-year warranty. “They are anti-bacterial in nature, consist of high-definition fibre, and are heat-, scratch- and water-resistant. Laminates also prove to be very beneficial in decorative work,” he says. “Berry Floor laminates, with their varied designs, suit every style of decoration, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere,” says Ramesh.

Parquets
The flooring division offers semisolid/parquet flooring from Berry Wood, France, Tradenet (Singapore), Mastimber (Malaysia), Panaget (France) and PG Model.

“Semisolid/parquet flooring helps create a warm, elegant and inviting interior,” he says. “These solutions enhance overall performance; improve the clipping facility between boards; reduce time required for laying; increase the strength of interlocking system; reduce sound transmissions between rooms; and guarantee enhanced surface appearance. The flooring comes with a warranty of 15 to 20 years.”

Decorative parquet, meanwhile, allows for personalising floors, including the creation of original patterns integrated in mosaics and traditional parquets. Parquet, orders, corner pieces and roses of solid wood all come in natural colours, ready to be laid in the simplest to the most sophisticated combinations.

Also offered is a range of design parquet tiles from Teka designs from Austria, which can be installed floating or glued down.

PVC flooring
Available in a variety of colours and patterns, PVC flooring is widely used in areas that demand high standards of hygiene, and easy installation and maintenance. This type of flooring is now gaining wider application with designer flooring also being available. The company imports PVC rolls and tiles from LG Flooring (Korea) and Polyflor (UK).

Carpet flooring
Al Suwaiket offers carpet flooring from Burmatex (UK), Lano (Belgium) and Classic Carpets of the UK. These carpets boast superior design and high standards of manufacturing expertise while creating luxurious ambiances with texture and lustre in various blends of fibre, printed, tufted, and tufted Axminister, Wilton and hand-tufted varieties, he says.

Raised flooring
Al Suwaiket has three major suppliers of raised access flooring – BES (Malaysia), Jansen (Belgium) and RMF (Australia).

Access flooring is now the benchmark for all modern workspaces, Ramesh says. It can be used in general office areas, data centres, computer training rooms, classrooms, equipment and plant rooms, laboratories, switch control and telecommunication rooms, and industrial and manufacturing plants.

The product can be categorised into two types: one with wooden composition and the other with concrete. The surfacing material can either be high-pressure laminate, PVC or carpet, depending on the customers’ choice.

Synthetic grass flooring
Al Suwaiket markets synthetic grass flooring solutions from Orotex (Belgium) and Astroturf (US).

“Astroturf synthetic surfacing was developed to closely resemble natural grass to provide a year-round green-surfacing material,” says Ramesh. “This type of flooring can be used in balconies, verandas, terraces, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, pleasure boats, mobile homes and for landscaping in gardens, public green areas, playgrounds and public spaces; and in restaurants, and hotels.”

Accessories
Apart from its diverse flooring solutions, Al Suwaiket-Berry Floor provides a range of accessories including skirting, beadings and profiles for virtually every application, flooring and all types of finishing, and L-shaped, transition, adhesive and corbel profiles.

These products are manufactured by Berry Wood, Stikatak (UK) and FN (Austria), with more than 1,000 different models being available in a large variety of wood species and colour shades.
