
WITH more than three decades of experience in the region, Gulf Co-operation Symbols Contracting Company (GCS) says has an established a track record for completing projects on time and within budget in Saudi Arabia.
The company is primarily engaged in general engineering, procurement and construction involving all kinds of civil works; electromechanical works; earthworks; industrial and general infrastructure; pipeline works; structural steelworks; installation of water and sewer lines; prefabricated office and accommodation buildings; maintenance services; and operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
“We provide services that reflect the highest quality possible and accord high priority to delivering quality projects on time in compliance with work and technical specifications,” says the company’s spokesman.
GCS has completed a number of projects and continues to work on many others. These include:
• Infrastructure development at Al Zomorod beach resort (complete site developments);
• Temporary construction site facilities (TCSF) for a NGL recovery plant at Hawiyah. Snamprogetti was contractor and Saudi Arabian Oil Company is owner of the project;
• Two contracts for the construction of temporary camp facilities at Hawiyah gas plant expansion;
• Construction of the 500-bed Minah general hospital and a college of health and science building, in Makkah for the Saudi Health Ministry;
• Construction of TCSF for VIP villas and offices at Qurayyah seawater conversion plant with Snamprogetti as the contractor and Saudi Arabian Oil Company as the project owner;
• Construction of TCSF at Qatofin LLDPE project in Qatar; and
• Construction of TCSF at Aramco pump stations.
The company was also recently awarded a contract for the construction of a camp with Warley Parsons Arabia at Ras As Zawr.
Al Khobar-headquartered GCS was established in 1978 and has extensive facilities to support its activities throughout the kingdom including in Jubail, Dammam, Hasa, Riyadh, Madinah and Makkah. Its operation in Dammam, which extends over a total area of 38,000 sq m, includes facilities for 400 persons; heavy equipment and materials storage yards; concrete batching plant and reinforced concrete block factory.
