Makita Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture and sales of a wide range of power tools and related consumables, has seen its sales grow every year since the establishment of its Gulf unit more than nine years back.
The Japan-based Makita’s principle products are electrical power tools and they include circular saws, jigsaws, planers, drills, rotary hammers, grinders and sanders.
To meet an even wider range of customer needs, Makita also markets stationery woodworking machines, pneumatic tools and garden tools, said a spokesman.
“The Makita brand is backed by sophisticated technology, quality and a strong global network and is supported by customers around the world,” says Hasumoto, the managing director of Makita Gulf.
Makita strives to become a truly global supplier of a comprehensive array of power tools and other related products and in line with its policy of manufacturing products close to its customers, Makita manufactures power tools and other products at facilities in Japan, Germany, the UK and the US.
Founded in the early years of the 20th century, Makita marked its 91st anniversary in March this year.
Makita Gulf, established more than nine years back, moved into its own premises in Jebel Ali South Free Zone in August last year.
Makita works through a distribution network of agents in over 53 countries including the GCC, Africa and CIS, said Hasumoto.
“We see our sales increasing every year as we become more established and increase our distribution network within each country. We currently deal with many developing countries in the Middle East and throughout Africa and we would like to grow with our customers, giving them the support they need,” he says.
“Since moving to our new premises we have been able to provide our customers with a full three-day product training course including hands on and demonstration techniques. We also offer technical and power tool repair courses which we tailor-make to suit each customer. We have received only positive feedback from our customers and find our training centre is usually fully booked,” he continues.
“We at Makita aim to satisfy our customers’ needs by offering good service and supplying a top quality brand of industrial power tools, supported with good technical advice and after sales service,” he says.
