GP Zachariades, a leading civil engineering contracting and building works company in Bahrain that is classified as a Grade AA contractor by the Ministry of Works and Housing, has recently added two new technology Weinig machines, which will give it greater flexibility in undertaking a wider range of jobs.

“One of the machines is a Raimann ProiRip KST310, Multi-Ripsaw, for cutting wide and deep panels into required width sizes, with the minimum of waste and maximum yield,” says a spokesman for the Weinig Group, the German manufacturer. “The operator-friendly, efficient and flexible Ripsaw, with a ‘Quickfix’ arbour system for quick and safe set-up times, has a proven track record for fast repayment on investment by saving production time and saving timber waste – particularly profitable on hardwoods.”
“The accurate saws give straight cuts, which are ideal for planing and moulding, and are much superior to conventional saw systems,' he says.
Commenting on the second product from Weinig, he says: “The Weinig Unimat 500 is in a class of its own as an entry-level planer/moulder. It is precise, fast and versatile in operation, and has a memory system which makes repeatability of profiles easy and quick.
“The Unimat 500 is the ideal moulder for the smallest to the largest production runs and is extremely compact, taking up little floor space. In addition, it also assures first-class accuracy and surfacing, and with Weinig’s manufacturing excellence, reliability is assured, as is technical back-up, he says.
To date, GPZ has completed several prominent projects in Bahrain that include: The National Holdings Group headquarters, Al Salam Tower for the Islamic Bank, and the Batelco building at Hamala. Apart from these, the company has also undertaken heavy civil engineering projects such as major dams, river diversions, treatment plants and power stations.
Weinig’s business is growing steadily in the Gulf. The machines were delivered through Technologia Middle East, Bahrain, Weinig’s local agent.
