NovEra of the UK, which manufactures impact-resistant Prestige garage doors, is responding to growing market demand by making all of its single-width garage doors available pre-hung in optional quick-fit frames.

''The white, plastisol-coated steel frames are as maintenance-free as the uPVC complementary door panels themselves and require as few as six fixings into the inside or rear of the garage opening,'' says production director Steve Hobbs. "We would expect the simplified installation procedure involving frame fixing, handle and latch connection, tension release and lubrication to take less than 90 minutes.''

He continues: ''The convenience of a pre-hung door is not at the expense of operating gear choice or security. Trackless or retractable systems are available - each with security packages that include three-point locking.

''Many of the most popular 'designer' garage door styles are available in the Prestige range, thermoformed in ABS/ASA co-extruded plastic to give them resistance to site and transportation mishaps, as well as end-user knocks.

NovEra has also stepped up security on its Prestige range, adding a third latching point to its Clearspan retractable operating gear. The third locking point has been placed at the top of the door as a further measure designed to frustrate opportunist thieves.

''Clearspan is becoming an increasingly popular choice where optimum drive-through width is required, together with the option of immediate or eventual simple automation using a boom-style operator,'' says Hobbs. ''The extra width is achieved through the provision of cranked lifting arms that leave that lower half of the opening free for manoeuvring. The operating gear upgrade also includes a central, sturdy latch lever that provides the user with a simple manual release method from inside the garage.''

The upgraded Clearspan gear is available with all styles in the Prestige range.
