Insignia's range of wiring accessories.

Insignia, a new range of ultra-slim, decorative wiring accessories from MK Electric of the UK, has been supplied to the Taj Palace project in Dubai.

This new range of wiring accessories provides architects, designers and installers with a stylish product that can enhance the overall theme of an interior while retaining the highest standards of safety and functionality expected from MK.

The system is readily available in seven standard finishes - brushed stainless steel, polished brass, silver anodised aluminium, polished chrome, polished bronze, white and black anodized aluminium.

MK also provides a customisation and bespoke service in order to satisfy requests for varying finishes and functional capabilities.

''This service offers customers the full range of ultra-slim front plates in a choice of special finishes including gold, coloured anodised aluminium or paint finish in any colour included in the RAL colour index,'' says a Dubai-based spokesman for the company. "MK can also offer engraving of logos or reference numbers on fittings, as dictated by some hospital regulations, or satisfy customer requests for switch indicators above gas, lighting and fan switches - important in commercial kitchens and laboratories."

He continues: ''Multiple switching in Insignia is based on a modular format. All switching and monitoring products are compatible with the MK Grid Plus, which is available with the range. An innovative selection of data plates and telecom outlets is also featured, including RJ11 outlets and TV/FM outlets.

''Dimmers incorporating state-of-the-art technology complete the range. The same dimmer can run tungsten, low-voltage and halogen lighting as well as lighting using an electronic transformer.

''The ranges bring further individual benefits. All products, including the mirror-like polished brass finish, have an unrivalled resistance to corrosion and tarnishing - over twice that of any competitor's product when put through a rigorous test programme. Brass now being used by MK in these accessories has been specially treated to eliminate the effects of this chemical reaction. In addition, the high durability of the new finish enables MK to eliminate the need for a plastic gasket between front plate and wall, increasing the aesthetic appeal and easing installation of the range.

"All 13 amp sockets come with a dual earth for high-integrity earthing and the usual MK 20-year guarantee applies to the full range of products."

"Insignia products in the hugely popular polished brass finish were supplied for the Taj Palace Project in Dubai,'' says the spokesman.
