KM Painting & Building Maintenance, which this year marks two decades of service to the construction sector, counts the Taj Palace Hotel as another feather in its cap.

The Dubai-based company was involved with the interior and exterior painting works and decoration works such as gypsum artworks, on the project.

Under a Dh1.5 million ($408,720) contract, KM Paintings & Building Maintenance successfully supplied and applied Jotun Paints' Fenomastic paints inside the building and epoxy paints on the exterior walls. ''We took eight months to finish the contract and are proud to have participated in this prestigious project," says V S Krishnan, manager.

The company's association with Jotun Paints extends over many years. ''We are one of the nominated applicators of Jotun Paints for its major projects which are backed by a guarantee," he says.

Established in 1982, the company today has a total workforce of 92, including a civil engineer.

"We attribute our success to the quality of our work and efficient staff. All our workers are well-trained and have a number of years of experience behind them," Krishnan says.

Over the years, it has been involved with a many prestigious projects, including the Dubai International Airport (control tower), City Centre Hotel, Al Bustan Centre, Le Meridien Jumeirah (expansion project) and 34 buildings in Jebel Ali Village - all in Dubai; a group of 40 villas for Abu Dhabi Armed Forces, and 50 villas for the Public Works Department (PWD) - both in Abu Dhabi; and 100 villas in Dibba, Fujairah.
