COMACCHIO, an Italian specialist in manufacturing hydraulic drilling rigs, will put the spotlight on its highly versatile MC 15 rig when it participates in The Big 5 show.

The machine, which is compact yet powerful, is able to perform any type of ground engineering work, from micropiles to jet grouting, as well as anchor drilling, says a spokesman for the company.

“Equipped with a Cummins engine delivering 119 kW of power and an eight-tonne pull mast featuring Comacchio’s patented mast articulation, the MC 15 can achieve a wide variety of movements and inclinations, allowing it to be used even in confined spaces,” says the spokesman.

Thanks to advanced modular hydraulic circuits, the MC 15 can utilise a wide range of rotary heads, hydraulic drifters, double-head systems, water and mud pumps, winches and rod carousels and is suitable for rotary and rotary-percussive drilling.

The rig can be equipped with hydraulic proportional servo-assisted controls, radio control or double controls (both hydraulic and radio). Like all Comacchio rigs, the MC 15 can be customised according to specific needs.

Founded in 1986 as a family-run business in northeast Italy, Comacchio is among the first companies worldwide to specialise in the production of hydraulic drilling rigs specifically for the small to medium-diameter hole market.
