Prompted by the feedback it has received from its customers and in an attempt to penetrate the Gulf market, Turkey-based Erku Foreign Trade and Marketing will be making its debut at this year’s Big 5 with an extensive range of malleable cast iron pipe fittings.

Erku, the international trade house of Soyak Group – one of the biggest construction companies in Turkey – will be promoting the pipe fittings produced by its group company Trakya Döküm Cast Iron Manufacturing Company.
Erku is the registered marketer and exporter of materials produced by Trakya Döküm, one of the leading companies of the group, which produces Td brand pipe fittings in accordance with the European Standard EN 10242 “Design Symbol A” and have been awarded TUV Rheinland certification.
Available with black or hot-dip galvanised finish coating, Td fittings are treaded as jointing treads in accordance with ISO 7/1 with the internal treads being parallel (Rp) and external treads being 1:16 tapered (R) for providing a reliable tightness during mounting of fitting, says Kutay Ulku, export manager of Erku.
“To meet the market demand, Trakya Döküm has recently expanded its production capacity from 35,000 tonnes per year (tpy) to 55,000 tpy and hopes to further expand to 75,000 tonnes next year, he says.
Established in 1981 in Istanbul, the group has an iron casting foundry and a packing materials factory.
Erku’s mission is to market and expand the distribution network for the goods produced by the holding company. Its markets malleable cast iron pipe fittings which includes the entire range of Td brand fittings from ¼ to 4 inches in size; customer-specified cast iron parts such as grey cast iron, ductile cast iron and malleable cast iron; king clamps; and corrugated cardboard boxes.
While being a market leader in Turkey where it holds around 60 per cent share of the market, Erku is looking forward to entering the fast-developing construction markets of the GCC.
According to Ulku, the markets of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Iraq and Kuwait hold considerable potential for growth for the group. Erku’s products can be seen at Stand 7 E310.
