Major Turkish quarry owner and processor of marble and travertine products Reisoglu Mermer returns to the Big 5 with a variety of travertine and marble branded as Efesus Stone, which it intends to launch in the Middle East market.

The exclusive Efesus Stone collection comprises more than 4,000 kinds of travertine and marble products offered in 12 colours of travertine and six colours of marble, says Yasemin Okumus, marketing and sales representative of the company.
The Efesus stone collection is targeted at two main segments – cladding materials and decorative products.
The cladding range include filled or unfilled honed tiles; distressed and chiselled edge cobblestones, patinato (brushed) as well as tumbled cobblestone and bricks.
In the decorative segment, it offers mosaics, medallions, handcrafted inserts, art paintings and accessories, mouldings, hand painted mouldings, moulding mosaics, sinks, fountains, garden ornaments, fireplaces, pool-copings and stairs.
Reisoglu Mermer hopes to repeat its success at last year’s Big 5 exhibition, which enabled it to enter new markets in the GCC and clinch sales immediately after the show.
“We are currently eyeing new markets in the Middle East with a view to increasing our sales volume in the region by introducing new products and finishes in the marble and stone sector. We also intend to position ourselves in the competitive Middle East market, of which Dubai is the centre of attraction,” he adds.
Commenting on the Gulf market, Okumus says: “The construction industry in the Gulf in growing rapidly and becoming more and more competitive and I see high potential for steel, glass blocks, and cladding materials in the region.”
It is the latter that Reisoglu Mermer intends to exploit.
In the Gulf, Reisoglu Mermer’s products are offered through a distributor network, which was recently boosted when the company appointed agents in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait.
Owner of around 45 quarries, Reisoglu Mermer is a leading processor of marble and travertine finishes, slabs and blocks used mainly for cladding and decorative purposes in residential and commercial buildings. The company exports around 95 per cent of its production to countries worldwide, which speaks volumes about the international appeal of its products.
Over the past year, he says that the company has increased both its production and sales volumes, made new investments in sophisticated machines for processing stone as well as achieved its goal of entering new markets worldwide. It production facilities were expanded with three honing brushing and calibrating machines, a moulding machine, a tumbling big machine and a chiselled edge machine which were installed to process marble and travertine quarried from the company’s quarries in Turkey.
Buoyed by the increase in demand, the company is already planning to further expand its production – which currently stands at a monthly capacity is about 100 to 120 containers – and diversify into new areas of stone, marble and travertine products.
Established in 1943 in Afyon in Turkey, Reisoglu Mermer currently has a turnover of around $10 million and is staffed by 403 employees.
Reisoglu Mermer will promote its extensive range at Stand C 431 at Maktoum Hall.
