Nakheel, one of the world’s largest privately-held property developers, has announced the commencement of installation of two marinas in the Anchor Marina of the Palm Jumeirah.
“Promoting a waterfront lifestyle and providing world-class marina facilities is a core focus of The Palm Jumeirah,” says a spokesman for the developer. “The Anchor Marina will provide 582 berths and is a central component of achieving this vision.”
The pontoons, which are located on the head of trunk on both the east and west side, were to be installed last month. The marinas are due to open mid-2008, with the marina Clubhouse opening in late 2008. It will house administrative offices, restroom, a café and restaurant, and some yachting-related shops and offices. The two marinas will be connected by a tunnel that passes beneath the Palm’s spine road.
