Dubai-based Majid Bukatara Building Materials (MBBM) Trading is boosting its product supply portfolio to include reverse osmosis water purifying systems and car wash water recycling systems.

“We finalised an informal arrangement during the recently-held Big 5 Show, as a result of which we have started getting inquiries from construction companies in the UAE. We are now awaiting the arrival of these systems very shortly from our sources in the US, Turkey and Germany,” says Sudhakar Rao Tumati, business development manager of MBBM. “We chose to move into this area of activity because water is precious and managing this increasingly scarce resource is everyone’s duty.”
“MBBM has been meeting the needs of the Middle East construction industry since 1985 as the largest single point for the supply of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) building materials. Our unique selling points are water heaters, false ceilings, manhole covers, waste management systems and all types of plumbing materials that are in demand in large high-profile projects such as the towering Burj Dubai as well as small factories and warehouses,” he adds.
MBBM has been involved in many prestigious projects including Dubai International Financial Centre, Grand Mosque Abu Dhabi, Burj Al Arab and the Sheikh Rashid Terminal (Dubai Airport). The company is currently supplying a number of other prominent projects such as Dubai Airport, Motor City, Al Barari Villas, Shams Abu Dhabi and Palm Jumeirah, among others.
“We are supplying more than 1,500 items that cater to the needs of the construction industry, ranging from manhole covers and sealing plates to glass blocks (decorative) that are used in building facades, floor drains and expansion joints.
“We are exporting glass reinforced plastic (GRP) sealing plates, shower trays, bathtubs and lining boxes to Qatar and other Gulf Countries” Tumati continues.
Tumati comments further: “Building materials or their sourcing may not be a key issue for developers or even the architects of iconic towers and mega housing projects that dot Dubai landscape. However, end-user satisfaction and the furtherance of the developer’s commercial interests hinge on the choices they make while sourcing construction and MEP building materials. With this understanding firmly rooted in its business philosophy, MBBM steadfastly pursues excellence to ensure it offers the right choice for millions of owners and dwellers of housing and office spaces across the UAE and beyond.
“Our success can be attributed to the efforts of our knowledge-driven sales teams, who come up with creative ideas on how to make aesthetic interior and exteriors more welcoming, functional and affordable. They do this by heeding to every suggestion of MEP site engineers through innovative redesign and on-the-spot modification at any cost. The business relationship, once forged, continues with prompt and efficient after-sales services by trained technical teams, backed by administrative and accounts personnel with a mandate to provide immediate attention to supply-and-service chain bottlenecks.”
