Recent successes in faucet sales have prompted Nabeel Al Siddiq Trading Services of Dammam to think of opening showrooms dedicated to that product.
The company has done very well in marketing US-based Delta Faucet Company's products both within Saudi Arabia and abroad.
General manager Hesham Al Siddiq says his firm was the largest importer worldwide of Delta products last year, and is very optimistic for 2001.
''Some of the faucets were supplied to private villas while consignments have also gone to Kazakhstan via Turkey,'' he says.
The company, which has a turnover of SR5 million ($1.33 million) to SR7 million, operates from its head office in 14th Street, Al Adamah, in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province city of Dammam. The company has a total staff of 32.
"We are expanding in the retail sector of the Saudi market by opening showrooms specially for faucets and water mixers," says Hesham.
The first showroom is coming up in King Abdulaziz Street in Dammam this year. Others will be established in Riyadh and Jeddah in the following year.
''Few Saudi trading companies have such a varied range of products as Nabeel Al Siddiq Trading Services, which was established in 1964,'' Al Siddiq says. ''In addition to supplying faucets and other water-related equipment, the company deals with chemicals, electrical items and spare parts, cables and safety equipment, serves as a wholesaler for food items and has outlets for watches and luxury items,''
According to Al Siddiq, construction activities were booming in 2000 and he expects 2001 to be even busier from the construction standpoint.
