The Aljomaih Company, established in 1936 by brothers Abdulaziz and Mohammed Abdullah Aljomaih, has progressed to become one of the leading names in trading in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Kingdom's phenomenal economic growth over the past several decades has produced a great demand for all types of heavy-duty equipment. Aljomaih has played a significant role in the Kingdom's development and provided a full range of internationally-renowned heavy equipment for industrial and agricultural needs.
Part of Aljomaih's business success is due to the selection of the most reliable manufacturers in the world to represent in the Kingdom, says the company's Heavy and Agricultural Equipment Division general manager, Engineer Abdullah Sulaiman Al-Ali.
The division is the sole dealer in Saudi Arabia for Fiat of Italy, Claas of Germany, Perkins of UK, TCM of Japan, Merlo of Italy, Tacom of Japan, Iveco Aifo of Italy, Nardi and Sogema of Italy, Tume of Finland and Fiat-Allis of Italy.
"Aljomaih's search for better quality and more efficient agricultural, industrial and construction machinery, and in effecting improvement in its services to the community continue as prime company objectives," he says.
The division has extensive facilities in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
Aljomaih has opened a modern showroom at a convenient location along the Dammam Road in Riyadh for the Agricultural and Heavy Equipment Division. Customers are afforded a comfortable centralised air-conditioned environment while they view the various new state-of-the-art agricultural and heavy equipment models of world-famous manufacturers.
Tracing the history of the company, Al-Ali says the company, which was launched in Shaqra, made a strategic move to shift to Riyadh in 1940. "True to the expectation of the brothers and as a result of their hard work, the company has become one of the largest conglomerates in the Kingdom," he says.
The company's first branch office was opened in Jeddah in 1948 and as the demand grew, it opened branches all over the Kingdom.
Now, Aljomaih has strategic branches in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah Monawara, Qassim, Hail, Shaqra, Sajer, Wadi Dawasir, Quria, Olaya, Aljouf, Tabouk and Khamis Musheit.
Speaking on the other divisions of the company, Al-Ali says the Aljomaih Automotive Company is an authorised agent for vehicles of the General Motors Corporation of America.
The Aljomaih Beverage and Bottling Plant is a franchisee holder of Pepsi-Cola International.
Aljomaih is also engaged in the manufacture of bus bodies, beverage cans, CO2 gas, and Shell Lubricating Oil in their blending plants. The company is the sole agent of Yokohama Tire Company of Japan and operates petrol stations with quick service shops for cars. In addition, importation of foodstuffs and wholesale is also one of the major activities of Aljomaih apart from investments and banking.
"Adhering to the policy of extending the best after-sales support to its valued customers, Aljomaih has established modern well-equipped workshops in its branch offices manned by competent and highly qualified engineers and technical personnel, whose knowledge on new equipment models are regularly reinforced via training seminars conducted by factory engineers," says Al-Ali.
Aljomaih maintains well-organised parts departments in its branch offices with a high level of stock inventory for all the equipment models being sold.
"Aljomaih's valued customers are therefore assured that whatever equipment they buy from Aljomaih are fully supported with genuine parts and quality service," he adds.
